Straughn 62, Brantley 45 - Straughn's Trevor Driver posted 24 points and 12 rebounds to win MVP honors at the 10th Annual Red Level Christmas Tournament. Bilyon Jones added 15 points for the Tigers (12-2), who play at Elba on Friday. Straughn used a 20-5 run in the third quarter to pull away.

Wesley Person had 16 points to pace Brantley (8-7). The Bulldogs play at defending Class 1A champion J.F. Shields on Thursday.

Day Two

Brantley 73, Red Level 67 - Tori Upshaw poured in 25 points to lead Brantley (8-6) in the semifinals of the Red Level tournament. Wesley Person scored 17 points and Tevin Daniels 14 for the Bulldogs.
D.J. Sankey had 21 points to lead Red Level (7-8). Cale Nolen added 15.

Straughn 68, Samson 53 - Jakim Felton and Trevor Driver had 18 points each for Straughn (11-2). Trent Bonham added 12. Straughn has won eight straight.

Florala 63, Luverne 53 - The Wildcats got revenge for a 22 point loss in early December as Dominique Moore scored his season best 13 on the Tigers. Calvin Mulkey added 13 and Reggie Gundrum had 12 for the Florala

Straughn 56, Luverne 48 - Charles Christopher finished with 14 points to lead Straughn over the 2A #9 Luverne Tigers. Trenton Driver added 12 points and Trevor Driver contributed 16 rebounds and nine points for Straughn (10-2), which plays Samson at 4:30 p.m. today. Brasmon Harris scored 12 points for Luverne (6-3).
Samson defeated Florala - Samson advances over the Wildcats after falling to Florala in the Andalusia Tournament. The 2A Tigers' Simon Diaz led Samson with 17 while Reggie Gundrum posted 13 for the Cats.
Brantley 73, Flomaton 68 - Dexter Daniels' 18 points, Wesley Person's 13 and Dvante Porter's 12 led Brantley (7-6), which plays Red Level at 7:30 tonight.
Red Level 61, McKenzie 46 -Matthew Bond scored 19 points and D.J. Sankey added 13 for the Tigers (7-7). Melvin Owens and Cliff Pugh scored 11 each for McKenzie..

Brantley 50, Straughn 36 - Sherry Gulley scored 22 points and TaRonda Randall had nine points, 16 rebounds and six blocks to lead the Bulldogs (15-0) to the Red Level tournament championship. Kimberly Teel scored 12 points for Straughn.

Day Two

Brantley 45, Andalusia 38 -

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs faced their toughest opponent of the season in Brantley (14-0) during the semi-final round of the 10th Annual Red Level Christmas Tournament. Brantley's 6'2 center Taronda Randall scored 15 and pulled 16 rebounds to lead the undefeated team to a 45-38 win. The game was tied at the end of the third period (26-26), but Andalusia missed too many rebounds and had several key turnovers in the fourth quarter to defeat the 1A school. Anjelica White had 14 for the 4A Lady Bulldogs who fall to 7-5 on the season. Andalusia faces Red Level in the consolation game

Straughn 55, Red Level 38 - Straughn took a 33-12 lead at half and cruised to a semi-final victory over the host Lady Tigers 55-38. Straughn controlled the entire game and will now face possible the best team in the state in 1A ball. Kimberly Teel scored 13 points and Tiffany Freeney added 10 for Straughn. Erica Crawford had 16 points for Red Level who falls to 6-9 on the season.

Day One

Andalusia 49, Luverne 24 - The Lady Bulldogs were the first team to take the floor in the 10th Annual Christmas Tournament hosted by Red Level and started Covington County teams off 1-0 with a win over Luverne 49-25. Anjelica White and Chan Lawrence both had 15 for Andalusia while Rasheeda May had 11 for the Tigers.

Brantley 64, Laurel Hill (Fla.) 16 - A Matchup of Top ranked teams in Florida and Alabama turned into a rout as Eisha Person had 20 points and 12 rebounds, TaRonda Randall posted 20 points and 10 boards, and the Bulldogs (13-0) won in the Red Level tournament. Sherry Gulley added 14 points for Brantley, which faces Andalusia today.

Straughn 56, McKenzie 45 - Straughn defeated McKenzie and matched the Varsity boys 56 in a win over the Lady Tigers of McKenzie. Kaitlynn Wiggins had 15 and Tiffany Freeney added 13 for the Lady Straughn Tigers while Amber Rudolph led McKenzie with 18 points.

Red Level 60, Highland Home 24 - RED LEVEL -- Erica Crawford recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds for Red Level. Koneshia Callaway scored 14 points and Kiaria Coleman added 11. Red Level (6-8) will play Straughn at 6 p.m. today. Jessica Merriweather led Highland Home with 15 points.
