ANDALUSIA FALLS TO JACKSONVILLE
The Andalusia
Lady Bulldogs fell in their game against Jacksonville during
game 1 of the 4A Volleyball Elite Eight.
Andalusia finished another successful season of Volleyball with
their second trip to the Elite Eight, but couldn't make it out
of the first round againt.

The Andalusia Bulldogs
defeated Jemison 25-15; 25-18; 25-23 last Thursday to advance to
Wednesday match against Jacksonville in the AHSAA High School
Girls Volleyball 4A Elite Eight. Andalusia and
Jacksonville play in Game 1 that begins at 11 AM with the winner
advancing to face Game 2 winner of East Limestone / Alabama
Christian Academy (also at 11:00 AM).

The Andalusia Bulldogs defeated
Trinity in three games to win a second

consecutive trip to the
Elite Eight in the AHSAA Volleyball Playoffs. While the
Bulldogs were winning the Bobcats were falling in Montgomery to
host Trinity. The Wildcats defeated Opp in three straight
to make another trip to the Elite Eight as well.

The 2007 Volleyball team
is continuing to build on last years' success of Elite Eight status
and is close to a repeat trip to the AHSAA final round. The
Bulldogs dropped in the finals of the regional contest to St. James,
but continues into sub-state. Sub-state matches will be played
Thursday, October 25 with the winners advancing to the Elite Eight
State Tournament October 31 - November 1 at the Pelham Civic
Complex.
Andalusia will host
Jemison at 5 PM on Thursday with the winner advancing to the Elite
Eight. Andalusia, if advancing, would face the winner of Match
5.
Of the sixteen teams
competing to make the Elite Eight in 4A - Andalusia, Trinity,
Jacksonville (runner-up), St. James, Deshler (quarterfinal), and
Alabama Christian are trying to repeat their 2006 trip.
Defending 4A State Champ Saks did not make the Sub-State pairing.

sweep Lady Tigers
The 3A Straughn Tigers played some intense ball, but the
4A Bulldogs are just on a roll. After sweeping the teams from "Area
Brewton" Monday - Andalusia focus on cross county rival Straughn for both
Junior Varsity and Varsity.

Volleyball
The Lady Bulldogs continue to roll through their competition defeating the
Lady Tigers from TR Miller in 2 games. The JV and Varsity have
already defeated WS Neal - also in two games. Andalusia
is preparing for a challenge to return into the Elite Eight.

Bulldogs defeat Providence
The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs won 3
straight over 1A power Providence Christian and look settled
into another Elite Eight run. The Eagles could find "no
dog catchers" and were swept in three games by the dominate 4A
team.

Providence had little luck with any of
the Andalusia teams as the 9th grade and Junior Varsity squads
took to the "hard wood".

Andy swept Zion Chapel...
The Lady Bulldogs Varsity squad
defeated Zion Chapel in three games yesterday 25-11; 25-18;
25-12.
The Middle School and Varsity also won
25-9; 25-14 and 25-6; 25-13 respectfully

sweep Bobcats
Andalusia won the
lead in to Friday Night's football game as the host Lady
Bobcats' teams were all defeated Monday evening by the Lady
Bulldogs.
Opp started the Junior Varsity with a 27-25 victory before the
Bulldogs even it up 9-25 and pulled a way with a final 13-25
win. Seymone Edwards led the JV Lady Cats with 3 kills, 1
ace, 9 digs, 2 blocks. Kimberly Vaughn was 10/10 from the
service line with 3 aces, 13 digs and Soyia Folmar had 5 aces, 1
kill, 8 digs, 3 blocks. Charlene Wyatt had 4 digs while
Meatta Boyd had 2 kills, 2 digs, and 6 assists for the JV
Bobcats.
The Varsity was all
Andalusia winning 16-25, 9-25, and 17-25 to close out the
Bobcats in three games. Kiara Henderson led the Bobcats in
a losing effort with 4 kills, 1 ace, 3 digs and 6 blocks. Mychal
Drew had 3 kills, 1 ace, 7 digs, and 5 blocks and Brittany Boyd
had 16 assists. Farren Hightower added 11 assists
Andalusia prepares for
repeat
The Lady Bulldogs made a run at the
State Title last season and created local excitement with their
trip to the State's Elite Eight before losing out to Wilson.
This season six seniors lead a team that
could be build on last season success and establish their own
tradition within the box circle. Losing only 4 players off
last years team - expect a slow start
The Lady Bulldogs will lost only 4 seniors from
the team that will get better next year and possible enjoy the talent from
the Junior Varsity and Middle School teams. The Middle School was
the first Andalusia team to defeat the Kinston Bulldogs.
