Girls finish 6th
The Opp girls Tennis Team traveled to
Mobile to play in the state tournament for the second straight year. Opp
scored a total of 18 points in the two days giving them a 6th place
finish which was exactly where they finished in 2007. "I am very proud
of our teams and all that we accomplished this year" said Coach Norris.
"I am looking forward to reloading next year" Norris added finishing her
fourth season as Coach of the tennis team. Here were the individual

Girls - Sectional Tournament
The Opp girls tennis team played in their annual sectional tournament
last Tuesday afternoon at LBW-CC in Andalusia. This year's sectional
tournament would also include Andalusia, WS Neal, TR Miller, and
Jackson.
The Opp girls were looking for their first ever sectional title in
school history. A first or second place finish would assure them a spot
in the state championships in Mobile on May 1-2.
The girls would not only win the school's first sectional title ever but
they would run away with it scoring more points than the other four
schools combined. The girls won every set of matches they were involved
in except for one. They would tally up a total of 49 points during the
competition out of a total possible of 51 that they could have scored.
Two points were awarded for every singles match won and three points for
every double match won. Here were the individual results:

Boys - Sectional Tournament
The Opp boys tennis team played in their first sectional tournament
since Coach Norris took over the team in 2005 last Thursday afternoon at
LBW-CC in Andalusia.
The sectional tournament would also include Andalusia, WS Neal, TR
Miller, and Jackson.
A first or second place finish would assure a spot in the state
championships in Mobile on May 1-2.
The boys would finish with 15 points which put them in third place in
the final standings behind TR Miller (1st) and Andalusia (2nd).
