In its first season the Opp track and field team had several qualify for the state competition that was held in Gulf Shores last Friday and Saturday. Opp would finish 18th in the state out of a total of 31 schools that participated in 4A. Here are the individual results:


Girls 100 Meter Dash
Caitlin Pearce finished 9th with a time of 13.05 seconds

Girls 400 Meter Dash
Caitlin Pearce finished 2nd with a time of 1 minute and 2.46 seconds

Girls 800 Meter Run
Mikel Drew finished 20th with a time of 2 minutes and 51.91 seconds

Boys 4x100 Meter Relay
Opp finished 14th with a time of 46.67 seconds

Boys 4x400 Meter Relay
Andrew Birge, Zane Christian, Richard Davis, and Tay Edwards finished 19th with a time of 3 minutes and 57.30 seconds
