The Lady Bobcats finished the season with a trip into Sub-State.  Sweet 16 of Volleyball.  Who won state?  sporting news on Program23

 

 

The Opp Lady Bobcats improved to 11-4 on the season with a hard fought win over the Straughn Lady Tigers.  The Bobcats defeated the 3A first year team for the second time in twelve days, but the second time around wasn't as easy. 

In the Junior Varsity contest both teams fought had with the Lady Tigers surprising Opp to take the first game before the Lady Bobcats came back and took the last two.

Soyia Flomar was 11/12 from the service line with 2 aces and 3 digs Meatta Boyd had 1ace ,2 kills, 2 digs Kimberly Vaughn and Ali Colquett had 5 digs


Varsity Scores: 25-22, 25-20, 25-20

Kiara Henderson had 9 kills, 5 digs, 6 blocks
Mychal Drew had 4 aces, 2 kills, 5 digs, 3 blocks
Joi Rhymes had 4 kills, and 5 digs
Abby Foster and Brooke Thompson had 2 kills
Brittany Boyd and Stephanie Hickman had 12 assists each

Lady Bulldogs
sweep Bobcats

Andalusia won the lead in to Friday Night's football game as the host Lady Bobcats' teams were all defeated Monday evening by the Lady Bulldogs. 

Opp started the Junior Varsity with a 27-25 victory before the Bulldogs even it up 9-25 and pulled a way with a final 13-25 win.  Seymone Edwards led the JV Lady Cats with 3 kills, 1 ace, 9 digs, 2 blocks.  Kimberly Vaughn was 10/10 from the service line with 3 aces, 13 digs and Soyia Folmar had 5 aces, 1 kill, 8 digs, 3 blocks.  Charlene Wyatt had 4 digs while Meatta Boyd had 2 kills, 2 digs, and 6 assists for the JV Bobcats. 

The Varsity was all Andalusia winning 16-25, 9-25, and 17-25 to close out the Bobcats in three games.  Kiara Henderson led the Bobcats in a losing effort with 4 kills, 1 ace, 3 digs and 6 blocks. Mychal Drew had 3 kills, 1 ace, 7 digs, and 5 blocks and Brittany Boyd had 16 assists.  Farren Hightower added 11 assists

 

 

There not just excited about Football at Opp this season.  The Lady Bobcats started their season last Thursday with both teams (JV and Varsity) defeating Zion Chapel.  The younger 'cats won 25-18; 25-17 followed up by the Varsity Bobcats dropping the first game but coming back to win three start against the Lady Rebels - 21-25; 25-23; 26-24; 25-22.

Opp competed in the Kinston Tournament over the past weekend dropping to 1A Powers Kinston and Providence but taking another game over Zion Chapel.
