PLEASANT
HOME
1A Runner-up
The Lady Eagles were
down but never out until the final out of the AHSAA State
Softball Finals. Pleasant Home lost their first game in
the double elimination tournament, but clawed their way back the
hard way until making the finals and losing to perennial
softball power Kinston.
Pleasant Home lost
the first game of the 8 team tournament to Speake and then was
relegated to the losers bracket to face Hubbertville. The
Lions were defeated 4-5 by Pleasant Home who advanced Saturday
Morning to play Athens Bible.
Pleasant Home won
their first three games on Saturday beginning at 9 AM over
Athens 4-3. Next a rematch with Speake - the Eagles shut
out the Bobcats 1-0. Pleasant Home was now in the finals
of the Loser's Bracket and needed to beat Mount Hope. Hope
had just been defeated by Kinston in the finals of the winner's
bracket 5-1 and the Eagles followed suit winning 11-3 setting up
the Class 1A Finals with the Kinston Bulldogs.
Coach Reeves felt
before the tournament started that this could come down to
Kinston and Pleasant Home and this was it. The major
difference of the day was Kinston had only played one game and
Pleasant Home been playing all day.
The Eagles started
strong and defeated the Bulldogs 6-0 and with Kinston having not
lost were setup for another game. The Bulldogs pulled it
out and won 6-4 winning claiming the 1A title.
Congrats to the Lady
Eagles for the 1A State Runner-up.

EAGLES BATTLE
Providence Christian Eagles claim victory
Runs crossed the plate a lot in the first inning for both Pleasant
Home and Providence Christian, but the Eagles of PC scored more and
kept adding on as they advance to the semi-finals to face Millry.
The Dothan team ended the game in the sixth inning after the batter
struck out and the ball bounced off the catchers face-mask sending
it to the foul side of first base. The Providence Eagle on
third base alertly advanced home ending the game.
Pleasant Home advanced further than any team in Eagle history and
Providence's short history has them in the semi-finals in only their
2nd year competing in the AHSAA.

STREAMING REPLAY
Pleasant Home
vs. Florala
Playoff for one - home for
the other?
This afternoon when Florala visit Pleasant Home the stakes are
high.... It is always a tense rivalry between Covington County
schools regardless of classification and sport - Red Level vs. Opp;
Straughn vs. Andalusia or any other mix - add in Florala and
Pleasant Home and the level continues to grow.... But the
intensity when Florala plays Pleasant Home is always high.
This season Pleasant Home defeated Florala in Football on the Eagles
home turf and claimed a higher seed in the Playoffs. The
excitement continued in Basketball - as the Florala boys defeated
Pleasant Home, but the Lady Eagles came back to defeat Florala in
the area tournament.
One game after another, time after time, these two small 1A schools
in the same County, same area - are always competing to see who
advances and who stays home. Tonight is no different.
Pleasant Home and Florala have lost to Brantley both defeated
McKenzie and tonight Pleasant Home holds the keys. They
defeated Florala earlier in the season and a victory tonight puts
them in the playoffs. A Florala win - means a tie and possible
a playoff birth.
Either way an enjoyable game in Pleasant Home tonight.
