GIANT KILLERS -
Eagles Roll Over Trojans
Coach Jimmy Reeves may be on to something. Many outside
Pleasant Home questioned why the head football
coach
stepped down last season from football to concentrate on softball,
but now the reasons seem plain as day.
Last year, Pleasant Home shocked the 1A softball world pushing
powerful Kinston to the limit and falling in the 1A State
Championship game to the Bulldogs.
This year Pleasant Home has rolled through their schedule building a
19-5 record and a #2 state ranking and last night took down 6A
Charles Henderson 7-1.
Hannah Cotton took the mound for the Eagles and settled in on the
Trojans. Both teams battled for the first few innings until
the third when Erin Byrd hit an RBI triple and scored on a wild
pitch - giving Pleasant Home a three - one advantage.
