Straughn vs Florala
11-28-2006

The Straughn Tigers won 2 of 3 over the visiting Wildcats, losing a close Varsity game at the buzzer 45-42.  The Driver brothers teamed up for 27 points for the Tigers, but Ro Williams was 5 for 6 at the free throw line in the closing minute that allowed Florala to capture their first win of the season.  The Wildcats' with only one player over six foot - employed a slow-paced offensive strategy with fast pace trapping on defense to slow down the height of Straughn.  Florala's Michael Carson lead the Wildcats with 18 points.

The Lady Tigers were successful in capturing a win over the 1A Wildcats in a game that started extremely slow for both squads.  Abby Bracewell had 16 points once the Tiger offense found their stride - defeating Florala 60-39.  The Lady Cats played their first game with only 7 players to Straughn's fourteen.  Liz Ferman had 19 for the Wildcats, but sat out the majority of the 2nd quarter with three fouls.  The Wildcats looked in control while Ferman was in the game, but when Coach Evans put Liz on the bench - Straughn made the most of the moment.
